The Thinking Behind
the Project:6
by Robert Ford

A colorful character named Billy Crystal came to Kanab in the 1920's armed with an old map he had acquired in Mexico.

This map had led him to the area in search of a particular symbol, one that would lead him to the riches of Montezuma's golden treasure.  He found the symbol he sought in or near a petroglyph panel up Johnson Canyon.

Billy, with an enlisted army of local treasure seekers started the work of tunneling into a nearby white sandstone cliff.  The treasure was never found.

I wonder if the symbol Crystal sought was the same as the mark we are discussing here?   There are quite a few of them in Johnson Canyon.

My contribution to this internet site is not intended as a definite conclusion as to their age, origin or meaning;  but more of a collection of far-flung ideas compiled here as an introduction to this unique glyph and offered as a starting point for a more advanced scientific analysis.
